Logistics and Equipment
The logistical backup is provided by a service vehicle: it carries your luggage and guides who are not at the back of the saddle. Coaching is provided by professional bikers guides from Germany and Thailand. A motorcycle and suitable equipment are provided.

In this process, the team determined that at least 4 years of experience after getting a license was required and that the minimum age for this adventure was 24 years.

The rhythm of a day
It is not a race circuit, these picturesque roads are very rich. We leave our hotel around 8:30 am / 9:00 am after breakfast to ride from 150 to 200 km during the day. Stops are regular to take pictures, observe the elephants, visit a village, a temple, a waterfall. We will take a break and have a drink every hour to keep fit and reactive. The objective is to take advantage of the way, to soak up as much as possible in the local culture. It’s a unique journey in a lifetime, we would not want you to miss anything. It is not the destination, but the road that counts. We make sure to arrive to the hotel before nighttime.
Do I have to follow the convoy?
You can ride at your own pace with a map that we put at your disposal with a suggested route and the best things to see and do. We will meet in the evening at the hotel.
What if I am not a biker,
You can come with us as a passenger at the motorbike back or in the service vehicle.
Weather
From July to October: the monsoon
Unlike southern Thailand the north has only one monsoon season that lasts 4 months. It does not rain every day but heavy if so.
From March to June : a compromise
March and April are the hottest months of the year. Temperatures can reach 40 degrees. In May and June, temperatures drop to 30 degrees and are more bearable.
From October to February: the best season
From October to February, you will experience your adventure through pleasant temperatures, a blue sky, sun, rare rains and lush green forests, generously watered by the monsoon that has just ended.

Annex 1
Do I need a specific driving licence in the visited country ?
A motorcycle license (A license) obtained in your country of origin is sufficient.
Driving rules
We drive at the left, as in England and Australia.
All speed limits are in km/h. You have to drive between 30 and 50 km/h in towns, up to 60 km/h in the suburbs and 90 km/h on the main roads. Like you, we like to ride at a good pace, but we must slow down to cross villages at 50 km/h maximum. There are often children, dogs, chickens, yaks. If you are detained by a traffic light or a buffalo crossing, the service vehicle ensures that no pilot is separated from the group.
Luggage
Your luggage will follow you in the service vehicle, those that are not necessary are left in Chiang Mai office, safe and secure.
Equipment provided
We provide helmets, gloves, jackets and knee pads in several sizes. Of course, nothing is worth your own equipment, perfectly adjusted.
Purchase equipment on site
If you want to buy equipment with European standards, it will cost you more than back home. On the other hand, there are many manufacturers, who offer good quality products given their price.
Visa
When arriving in Thailand, immigration gives you a free 30-day visa. If you plan on stay longer, you will need to make a specific request to the embassy before your departure.
Annex 2
Mae Hong Son Loop detailed itinerary
We will pick you up in the morning at your hotel in Chiang Mai. We will do a briefing on the driving, the history and local geography. Your motorcycle and suitable equipment are entrusted to you.
Day 1
Chiang Mai – Doi Inthanon – Mae Sariang (275 km)
Familiarize yourself with your new bike on the highway that leads to the south of Chiang Mai, in the direction of Doi Inthanon National Park, the roof of Thailand at 2,565 m. You will cross a winding mountain road through a pine forest. Contemplate royal pagodas, botanical gardens, the most beautiful waterfalls of the country and take the paths that sink into nature. We reach down to Mae Chaem for a relaxing lunch in the local restaurant. We will then cross other pine forests until the last stop of the day: Mae Sariang. For this first night, relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Riverhouse Hotel (The Wooden House).
Day 2
Mae Sariang – Mae Hong Son – Pai (273 km)
After breakfast, departure for Mae Hong Son on a scenic road. In Khun Yuam, we will take a break to visit the Second World War museum. In a village, near the border between Thailand and Myanmar, we will visit a Karen tribe, these women with long neck. We will also enter in Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the first Mae Hong Son temple perched on top of a hill. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Then explore the cave of Lod, “the cave with a brook that crosses” on a bamboo raft. Last kilometers of the day to Pai. Bathe in Tha Pai, a hot water source where you can enjoy a thermal bath ressourcing in a unique setting. We will spend the night at Baan Kung Kang De Pai whose pool offers an exceptional view of the mountains.
Day 3
Pai – Chiang Mai (135 km)
Before breakfast, you can help the monks who pass in the local market of Pai by giving them commodity.
After breakfast, visit the Pai Bridge, World War II memorial. We then head for the Mok Fah waterfall. Breakfast in a local restaurant. Last portion of road through farms to return to Chiang Mai.
