Will you try a first flight like the hero? Close to Budapest, meet the adventurers eager for thrills with a plane that will drop you in the snowy steppe of Hungary to live an unforgettable experience that also lived the character of Hergé.
Do you know Bitola, this charming little town in Macedonia that would have served as a model for “Klow”, the imaginary capital of Tintin’s Syldavia. This is an opportunity to discover it, by motorbike or on foot.
Make a detour to the capital, Skopje. Discover the city and its Old Bazaar, the largest in the Balkans, excluding Istanbul. Thanks to a motorbike trip from Bitola, the journey time will be about 3h30 (190 km) and will give you the opportunity to make a few stops in the Macedonian landscapes. For example, by visiting some points of interest: Ohrid and Struga. The latter can be a full day excursion to Lake Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a trip in a dugout canoe or a boat, with a lunch break consisting of local products, either as a picnic or in a typical restaurant. You can also explore the Mavrovo National Park and the town of Tetovo…
Let’s complete our tour of the Eastern countries and the Balkans with Tintin in Montenegro, which also resembles Hergé’s Syldavia… This is the opportunity to discover this country from the character’s point of view. To do so, travel through Montenegro up to Skoder Lake and its cliffs, one of the most beautiful sites in the country. You may see there some curly pelicans (an endangered species) that would have survived the pollution of the lake’s waters.
